Position Overview

The Communication Research Assistant will support the department's communication and outreach initiatives by promoting conferences, seminars, workshops, and departmental activities. The incumbent will develop communication materials, manage digital content, coordinate with the department's core team, and ensure timely dissemination of information across various communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support in developing communication plans for departmental conferences, seminars, workshops, podcasts, and other events.
  • Design communication materials including posters, flyers, banners, digital invitations, brochures, newsletters, infographics, and presentation templates.
  • Create and publish content for the social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) highlighting faculty achievements, research publications,
  • grants, awards, student accomplishments, and departmental milestones.
  • Prepare event announcements, promotional content, post-event summaries, and other communication materials as required.
  • Maintain consistency in departmental branding across all communication platforms and materials.
  • Monitor digital engagement, maintain communication records, and prepare basic reports on outreach activities.
  • Provide logistical support for seminars, conferences, and other events as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign).
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms and content scheduling tools.
  • Basic photography, videography, and video editing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant professional experience.

This is a contractual position, with the contract subject to extension based on performance and the department's requirements.
