Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing and executing the local procurement process for assigned departments, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective purchasing in line with institutional policies. The role includes procurement for The LUMS Store, Sports Items, Math, Finance & Accounts, Medical Center, Main Store, REDC & REDC Store, CSO, and Counselling & Psychological Services | OSA. Responsibilities focus on local purchases, coordination with end users and vendors, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process local purchase requisitions for assigned departments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services, including LUMS Store and Sports items, ensuring the availability of required inventory and event-related materials.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with assigned departments, including the Main Store and REDC Store, to ensure timely replenishment and delivery.
  • Obtain quotations, prepare comparative analyses, and facilitate vendor selection in accordance with LUMS procurement policies.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, monitor deliveries, follow up on goods receipt, and coordinate vendor invoice processing.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and vendors to clarify requirements, resolve procurement-related issues, and ensure timely fulfilment of requests.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and audit requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance and proactively resolve delivery, quality, or service-related issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and service delivery.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Sound understanding of procurement principles, purchasing procedures, and local procurement practices.
  • Knowledge of vendor sourcing, quotation management, comparative analysis, and purchase order processing.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong coordination, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
  • Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
Experience
  • Fresh or at least 01 year of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related function.
