Job Purpose

The Grants Financial Reporting & SAP GM Specialist is responsible for supporting the financial management, reporting, and budgeting functions of sponsored research projects. This includes maintaining accurate grant-related data in SAP GM-GTE, preparing financial reports, assisting in grant budget uploads and modifications, supporting compliance with donor requirements, and coordinating with internal departments for payroll, HR, and procurement transactions. The role demands attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and hands-on experience in SAP’s Grants Management module.

Job Description
  • Assist in the preparation and creation of new grants in SAP in line with donor guidelines.
  • Coordination with finance for assigning new internal orders and with IST for creating & assigning purchase groups for new release strategies.
  • Support HR approvals for hiring on internal and external grants by reviewing and processing recommendation forms and assist in monthly payroll processing.
  • Maintain and update derivation rules in SAP GM & HCM for new and existing grants and provide support to resolve SAP-related errors and to ensure proper mapping of sponsored classes for payroll allocations
  • Coordinate monthly payroll activities for approved personnel and update SAP derivations accordingly and budget uploads for monthly payroll activities.
  • Approve purchase requisitions in SAP related to grants,
  • Assist in grant extensions, closures, and transfers, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy in SAP
  • Manage the financial aspects of grants funded by LUMS and external donors, including preparing and sharing budgetary reports monthly or as needed.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities, as assigned by senior management, that support the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives, whether directly or indirectly.

Qualification

ACCA / Masters degree in Accounting or Management Studies.

Experience
  • 3-4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • SAP Certified Personal will be given preference.
