Position Overview

To configure, troubleshoot, and support our campus network and security surveillance system. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and multilayer switches 
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols and inter-VLAN routing. 
  • Assist with configuring overall network security (Firewall, IPS, DMZ, IPSec) 
  • 24/7 proactive monitoring of campus-wide critical services, like surveillance, switches, and related hardware, to ensure maximum uptime. Escalate the issues which need immediate attention. 
  • Assist with configuring controller-based CISCO wireless LAN infrastructure and security. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical problems for LAN/WAN services via the helpdesk. 
  • Configure and troubleshoot access control readers, controllers, and software 
  • Installation/troubleshooting/replacement of security cameras campus-wide. 
  • Administration of access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems, including system monitoring, programming, reporting, and troubleshooting. 
  • Administration of MS SQL and Windows Server 2016 or above.
  • Periodic verification of the backups of the database and video records of access control and CCTV systems. 
  • Establish, maintain, and support advanced network functionality related to surveillance/security systems.
  • Handle the new surveillance projects, including system configuration, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Configure and maintain surveillance systems, including Database, Application, Features, Functionality, Reports, Badges, Operating Systems, Cameras, LNVR, and Access Control Systems. 
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records of network and surveillance equipment and related documents 
  • Improve existing labelling and cabling standards 
  • Timely solve day-to-day network/surveillance-related tasks and queries.

Knowledge & Skills

Technical Skills 

  • Excellent working knowledge of network hardware and protocols 
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring access control systems 
  • Good working knowledge of enterprise-class network security systems and best practices 
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switches.
  • Hands-on experience in handling surveillance systems 
  • Good knowledge of ACS and CCTV, such as HID readers, RFID, iClass/Multiclass Cards/Reader, Biometric Fingerprint Reader, Controller and Reader Interfaces, EM Door Lock, Camera, DVR, NVR, Infrared and Night Vision, etc. 
  • Working knowledge of physical security systems such as boom barriers, turnstile gates and road blockers. 
     

Hands-on experience with any of the following:  

  • Knowledge of networking, surveillance and access control systems

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an HEC-recognised University. 

Experience

At least 3 years of work experience in an IT role in a large organisation (500 or more people).
