Position Overview

The Housing Officer plays a central role in ensuring the smooth functioning, safety, discipline, and well-being of residents within LUMS on-campus housing. The Housing Officer acts as the primary point of contact for students living in the residence halls and ensures compliance with university housing policies, facilitates conflict resolution, oversees maintenance and cleanliness, and collaborates with student life teams to foster a healthy and inclusive residential environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence in the residence halls.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for student concerns related to accommodation, roommate conflicts, disciplinary issues, and emergencies.

  • Promote and uphold residential policies, rules, and behavioural expectations.

  • Support and refer students to appropriate university services (e.g. counselling, health centre, academic support) as required.

  • Conduct regular rounds of the residence halls to ensure order and safety.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Prior knowledge of the MS Office Suite.

  • Prior knowledge of editing and proofreading.

  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to operate spreadsheets and word-processing programmes at a highly proficient level.

Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor’s (Hons) or Master’s degree from an HEC-recognised university.
Experience
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced environment.
