Job Purpose

To support LUMS’ departments in the preparation, management, and understanding of their budgets by providing assistance, guidance, and system support throughout the budgeting cycle, while also contributing to financial analysis and the enhancement of processes.

Job Description

Departmental Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for budget owners of respective departments, addressing and resolving budgetary issues during the execution of processes such as raising PRs/POs, editing derivations, and posting or shifting funds.
  • Provide ongoing facilitation and guidance to users regarding changes in the SAP budget module and processes.
  • Improve user experience in utilising budgets by proactively identifying challenges and recommending process enhancements.  
  • Liaise with the SAP team to help resolve user issues and assist with SAP system errors.
  • Liaison within the finance team for fixing budget errors arising in posting across multiple modules of SAP.
  • Sanctioning society budget in SAP based on actual receipts

Annual Budget Preparation:

  • Update OPEX and CAPEX budget numbers in standard templates and circulate them to departments.
  • Maintaining grants that are on the current fund budget in SAP when required
  • Executing budget adjustments in SAP as and when required during the year.
  • Updating the derivation rules.
  • Scheduling meetings with department owners and senior management to explain the budget requirements, model and layouts.
  • Upload and make the approved annual budget available on SAP in a timely manner to ensure seamless departmental access, along with the monthly split of the budget.

Any Other Responsibilities as assigned by the line manager or HOD.

Qualification
  • At Least a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting and Finance. Preferably a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from a reputed university.
Experience
  • Fresh graduates are eligible to apply.

  • Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in a corporate environment will be given preference.
