Position Overview

The Alumni Relations Associate is responsible for enhancing engagement with alumni by managing alumni events, database management and alumni services. This role plays a key part in fostering a strong alumni network and ensuring effective communication between alumni and the University.

 

Key Responsibilities

Alumni Communication:

  • Write and edit content for the Alumni Annual Magazine.
  • Work closely with the Alumni Relations Specialist to curate the magazine.
  • Write and edit content for the alumni website and LUMS website.
  • Communicate with alumni through email, WhatsApp, and social media platforms.
  • Develop web content for LUMS Commons and LUMS Connect.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Development teams for event and news coverage

. Alumni Events, Reunions & Associations:

  •  Assist in establishing new alumni associations.
  • Coordinate with school associations for event planning and logistics.
  • Manage operational tasks for alumni association events.
  • Plan and oversee batch reunions.
  • Assist in organising major alumni reunions (KLI) and flagship events (e.g., Homecoming).
  • Manage marketing and communications for all alumni events.

Alumni Database Management:

  • Ensure the alumni database is regularly updated and maintained for accuracy, relevance, and completeness, including implementing enhancements and modifications to the alumni portal as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to alumni in updating their records, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.

 Alumni Services:

  • Oversee the creation of alumni smart cards.
  • Respond to alumni queries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Post job opportunities on LUMS Connect.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Stakeholder communication and relationship management.
  • Familiarity with alumni engagement tools and CRM platforms.

 Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in higher education or alumni relations.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and alumni outreach strategies.

Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Experience
  • At least 0-3 years of experience in alumni relations, marketing, or event management.
