Position Overview

To support and lead the School of Education’s Career Placement Programme by developing strategic initiatives that enhance student employability, strengthen employer engagement, and support successful graduate outcomes. The role also contributes to student affairs, admissions outreach, and marketing initiatives aimed at increasing student engagement, strengthening the School’s visibility, and supporting enrolment objectives. The incumbent will serve as a key liaison among students, alumni, employers, faculty, and internal stakeholders to ensure an integrated and impactful student experience.

Key Responsibilities

Career Placement & Employability

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance the School of Education’s Career Placement Programme for ELM and ELM (WT) students.
  • Provide career advising and coaching to students and recent alumni on career planning, job search strategies, professional development, and employment opportunities.
  • Deliver career development workshops and training sessions on CV writing, interview preparation, networking, personal branding, and workplace readiness.
  • Develop assessment tools, surveys, and reporting mechanisms to evaluate placement outcomes and programme effectiveness.
  • Track graduate employment trends and use data-driven insights to strengthen placement initiatives and student support services.

Student Support & Student Affairs

  • Provide individual career counselling and advisory support to graduate students and recent alumni.
  • Hold regular office hours to support students on career planning, professional development, academic concerns, and student services-related matters.
  • Support the development and operational management of the Student Services Office.
  • Act as a key liaison between students, faculty, alumni, and internal departments to facilitate effective communication and student support.
  • Coordinate with the SOE Alumni Association to organise networking events, mentorship opportunities, and alumni engagement activities.

Partnerships & Event Management

  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Office to build and strengthen relationships with employers, schools, and professional networks.
  • Plan and manage job preparation events, professional development workshops, and career readiness seminars for students.
  • Coordinate employer engagement initiatives, including mock interviews, recruitment sessions, graduate networking events, and placement opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively across the School and wider University to address student, programme, and operational needs effectively.

Marketing, Communications & Admissions Support

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans for the School of Education.
  • Strengthen and promote the School’s brand identity across internal and external audiences.
  • Support the planning and execution of admissions outreach and student recruitment initiatives to maximise enrolment.
  • Coordinate promotional campaigns, communication materials, and outreach activities for prospective students and key stakeholders.
  • Manage and oversee the School of Education’s social media platforms and digital engagement strategy.
  • Support admissions-related activities, applicant engagement, and outreach initiatives throughout the recruitment cycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Education, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related discipline from a HEC recognized institution.

Experience

Minimum 03 years of relevant experience in career services, student affairs, admissions, employer engagement, marketing, communications, or a related function.
