Position Overview

The Donor Relationship Lead will play a key role in generating new funding opportunities and strengthening donor partnerships to support the university’s strategic priorities, including student sponsorships, research, and infrastructure. The role focuses on building and managing a diverse donor portfolio of High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), corporates, alumni, and development agencies. The position will focus on funds coming from the South and will be based in Karachi. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, research, and qualify new donor prospects to expand the funding pipeline across HNIs, corporates, alumni, and development partners.
  • Develop tailored proposals and pitches to secure funding commitments aligned with institutional needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors through regular communication, engagement activities, and personalised stewardship.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design fundraising initiatives and engagement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Plan and coordinate donor-focused events, networking opportunities, and student-donor interactions to strengthen connections.
  • Work with marketing and branding teams to design donor campaigns and visibility initiatives that enhance outreach and engagement.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Understanding of fundraising principles, methods, and best practices.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills to develop long-term engagement and fundraising strategies. Experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage alumni and donor information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications
  • At least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized institution.
Experience
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an educational institution or non-profit organization, ideally with relevant experience in Karachi.

  • Previous experience in fundraising or relationship management, particularly within the higher education or non-profit sector, is preferred.
