Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a similar discipline is also preferred.
The Financial Aid Team Lead plays a key role in ensuring the effective execution of the University’s financial aid programs by overseeing day-to-day operational processes, supporting policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. This role serves as the functional expert for financial aid processes, providing guidance to the team, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating equitable, timely, and transparent aid delivery to students.
Ensure efficient processing of applications and delivery of funding to eligible students.
Review and adjudicate complex financial aid applications based on financial documentation and institutional guidelines.
Review case summaries and recommendations for Financial Aid Committee approval, ensuring fair and accurate evaluations.
Lead and facilitate Financial Aid Committee meetings, ensuring accurate documentation, communication of decisions, and adherence to timelines.
Resolve escalated or complex student queries and exceptional financial cases requiring discretion and judgment.
Ensure all financial aid records, decision sheets, letters, and files are accurately maintained in both physical and digital formats in compliance with university policies.
Maintain and monitor key operational timelines, ensuring adherence to aid cycles, deadlines, and quality benchmarks.
Conduct quality assurance checks on application reviews, funding decisions, and data entry performed by team members.
Assist in the preparation, updating, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process guidelines.
Support the development and refinement of financial aid policies and procedures for administrative review and approval.
Compile and analyse demographic, financial, and performance data for management and committee reporting.
Prepare statistical and narrative reports summarising aid disbursement, trends, and program efficiency.
Collaborate with IST and ERP teams (SAP, Student Financials, etc.) to troubleshoot system issues, validate reports, and enhance process automation.
Provide functional supervision, training, and guidance to Specialists, Associates, and Interns within the Financial Aid Office.
Provide feedback and mentoring to support staff development and performance improvement.
Liaise with internal departments, including Admissions, Finance, IT, and Registrar’s Office, to ensure smooth coordination on aid-related matters.
Coordinate with the Office of Advancement to ensure accurate dissemination of financial aid information across digital platforms.
Manage internal and external scholarship programs in coordination with donors, sponsors, and institutional offices.
Represent the Financial Aid Office in meetings, briefings, and cross-departmental committees when required.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Advanced analytical and quantitative assessment capability.
Strategic thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
In-depth knowledge of institutional financial aid policies, procedures, and eligibility frameworks.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP/student information systems (e.g., SAP, Student Financials).
Ability to compile, analyse, and interpret complex data for reporting and process improvement.

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in financial aid administration, student services, or higher education administration.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing teams or projects.
Demonstrated experience in policy implementation, budget management, and reporting.
Experience in process improvement, workflow optimisation, and system management is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
