Position Overview

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly environment on campus by actively monitoring safety operations, responding to emergencies, and maintaining vigilance through surveillance and reporting. The role demands a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in executing all security-related duties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Campus Safety & Security Monitoring 

  • Maintain a constant presence across designated areas to ensure safety and compliance with LUMS security policies. 
  • Monitor CCTV and access control systems, promptly report suspicious activities, and coordinate with the control room for immediate response. 
  • Support in the enforcement of campus entry/exit procedures, parking policies, and visitor management protocols. 

2. Emergency Preparedness & Response 

  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire, medical, and security incidents, ensuring safety measures are implemented effectively. 
  • Assist in evacuation drills, emergency exercises, and follow-up investigations. 
  • Coordinate with rescue services, law enforcement, and internal departments during emergencies. 

3. Operational Accountability 

  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident records in the prescribed format. 
  • Ensure accountability in duty performance, attendance, and equipment handling (radios, keys, surveillance tools, etc.). 
  • Report any malfunctioning security equipment or system to the supervisor immediately. 

4. Operational Support and Liaison 

  • Provide assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors in accordance with campus safety procedures. 
  • Support departmental events, VIP movements, and student activities through proper coordination and crowd management. 
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure smooth operational flow and safety compliance. 

5. Confidentiality & Privacy 

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all campus security operations, incidents, and sensitive information. 
  • Ensure personal and institutional data protection in all duties performed. 

6. Safety, Security, and Surveillance 

  • Conduct regular patrolling of assigned areas to detect and prevent security breaches. 
  • Assist in maintaining surveillance and control over restricted zones. 
  • Support in lost-and-found management and ensure items are recorded and handled per standard procedures.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong observation and reporting abilities. 
  • Knowledge of security systems (CCTV, ACS, etc.). 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a HEC-recognised university
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a security or safety role, preferably in an educational or corporate environment.
