Position Overview

The Marketing Associate will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of marketing and communication initiatives that strengthen the LUMS brand, promote academic programs, and enhance engagement with students, alumni, faculty, and external stakeholders. The position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Campaigns and Content Development

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of integrated marketing campaigns for admissions, events, and institutional branding.

  • Develop engaging and relevant content for digital and print platforms, including website copy, brochures, newsletters, social media posts, and email marketing.

  • Coordinate with academic and administrative departments to collect and curate stories, success highlights, and visual assets.

  • Ensure all marketing materials align with LUMS branding guidelines and tone of voice.

2. Digital and Social Media Marketing

  • Support the management of official LUMS social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).

  • Schedule and monitor posts, track engagement metrics, and prepare monthly social media analytics reports.

  • Assist in executing digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.) to increase visibility and engagement.

  • Identify trends and propose new digital content strategies to enhance audience interaction.

3. Event Marketing and Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote major university events such as Open Days, Convocations, Donor events, Conferences, and Alumni Reunions.

  • Assist in event coverage, including live posting, photography coordination, and post-event summaries.

4. Branding and Public Relations

  • Support branding consistency across all university communications.

  • Assist in liaising with external vendors, creative agencies, and media partners.

  • Contribute to press releases, articles, and newsletters highlighting LUMS initiatives, faculty research, and achievements.

5. Market Research and Reporting

  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and market research to identify emerging trends in higher education marketing.

  • Analyse campaign performance data and prepare periodic performance reports with actionable insights.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency required; Urdu writing a plus).

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and social media management.

  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) preferred.

  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret marketing data and generate insights.

  • Creativity, initiative, and passion for storytelling and brand building.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s (Hons)/Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Media Studies, or a related field.
Experience
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant expereince in marketing, communications, or digital media.
